Genting Singapore
Channel News Asia: Genting-Star Cruises consortium wins Sentosa integrated resort project,
So the haze and all that was really just a promotional bid to get the Singapore government to accept the Genting-Star Cruises proposal. I mean, you do have to let people know how it really feels like in Genting Highlands to understand how it is going to be light.
But seriously, the Integrated Resort bid is over and we will get our own Universal Studios. After all that media attention, it is kind of disappointing that we will not get our very own Las Vegas in Singapore. Still I suppose this fits in with what the government has planned since the start.
I can’t wait to see what rides they will have, as well as the revival of Sentosa.
I am certainly looking forward to the new IR in Sentosa, as well as the one in Marina Bay in Sands. They would be what Singapore needs to inject new vibrancy into our tourism landscape. Incidentally, starting big is just one part of being successful. There are other factors for success too, which I have captured in my blog:

Would appreciate your comments and links. :-)
This announcement was done while we were visiting Singapore. My brother in law observed that Singapore MRT is currently bidding for a project in Johore! He was hinting that by offering a Malaysian company a foot in the tourism business, SMRT can get theirs into Malaysia…
Knowing how calculative some folks are, did not seem like a bad idea!
Just came back from Vegas and love it very much. But I doubt Singapore will become like Vegas.
